Pilot Terms

Last updated 2026-08-07

A plain-language summary of what you are joining when you sign up for the free pilot — including the email that comes with it.

This is a plain-language summary while we finalize our full legal terms. It reflects how the product works today; the definitive terms will replace it before launch.

What the pilot is

The pilot is early access to SmartOptions Journal while it is still being built. You get to use it at no charge during the pilot, and we get your feedback on what works and what does not. Pricing after the pilot is not settled yet; we will tell you what it is before anything is ever charged, and you will not be charged without agreeing first.

Because the product is early, expect rough edges: features can change, move, or be withdrawn, and we may occasionally take the service down to fix things.

Joining the pilot includes product email

Signing up for the pilot means agreeing to receive product email from us: a welcome message, a short run of setup guidance to help you get your first trades in, occasional updates about the pilot, and a request for your feedback.

Every one of those emails carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Use it and we stop sending product email to you — you keep your account and the product keeps working exactly as before.

Account email is separate and cannot be turned off

Account email is different from product email. Address verification, password resets, and security alerts are how you prove the account is yours and how we tell you when something happens to it.

Unsubscribing from product email does not affect account email, and account email cannot be switched off while the account exists. If you no longer want to receive it, close your account.

Your data during the pilot

Your trades and journal entries stay in your own workspace and are not shown on public pages. What we collect and how we use it is described in our Privacy summary.

The pilot is not investment advice

SmartOptions Journal is educational software for reviewing your own trading process. It does not execute trades, route orders, or hold funds, it does not give personalized financial advice, and nothing in the pilot is a prediction or a promise about your results. Trading carries risk, including the loss of capital. See our Disclosures for the full statement.

Leaving the pilot

You can stop using the pilot at any time. Email support@trysmartoptions.app to close your account or to have your data exported or deleted.
